Calling Local Artists: Share Your Haiti-To-Me Story
Haiti-To-Me invites artists, musicians, and storytellers to submit original work celebrating resilience, culture, identity, and community.
Entries are open September 1-October 23, 2026.
Selected submissions will be showcased online, promoted throughout the campaign, and presented to the community for public voting.
Winning Artist
The winning artist will receive a $500 cash prize, recognition at the November 5 event, and potential local media and interview exposure.
Home Is Something You Carry

For thousands of Haitian families, the life they built here is suddenly uncertain, and the home they left is no safer than when they fled. What they carry is memory, culture, and each other. Together, we honor all three, and make sure no family carries this alone.
4:00–6:00 PM | Artist Meet-and-Greet
Meet participating artists, hear the stories behind their work, capture interviews and community content, and preview featured silent-auction pieces.
6:00–10:00 PM | Center Stage Event
Experience live music, personal storytelling, artist presentations, contest recognition, community activations, and the Haiti-To-Me silent auction.
What Protection Made Possible
For years, Temporary Protected Status gave Haitian families something rare: the chance to build.
It meant a steady paycheck and a driver’s license. A lease in their own name. Children who grew up in South Florida classrooms, played on local teams, and called this place home. For many families, TPS turned years of survival into a real life, while Haiti remained too dangerous to return to.
Those families became nurses, caregivers, business owners, students, and neighbors. They sent support home to relatives in Haiti and kept their culture alive here, in their churches, kitchens, and communities.
Haiti To Me honors what these families built and stands with them in what comes next. It connects the diaspora with communities in Haiti, gives families a space to be seen and heard, and turns support into real help: trauma care and resilience programs for Haitians who need it most.
